Over the years, the historical significance of the once-grand West Baden Springs Hotel property diminished as the neglected grounds fell into ruin. The former luxury of this National Historic Landmark (NHL) was reduced to an echo when one wall of the original building collapsed. Weeds overtook its manicured gardens and debris was strewn across the grounds of what was once the premier vacation spot in southern Indiana.
