Behind the Scenes Stables Tour Thursdays

Rise, shine, and go behind the scenes as the stars of our stables begin their day. Watch the morning routine of the horses as they come in from the pasture to be fed, brushed and saddled up for their “work day.” You’ll also have the chance to meet some of our 27 horses and have questions answered by our stables staff. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start time.

Cast a line and enjoy the newest outdoor experience at French Lick Resort. Dry Hollow Family Fishing Pond is a peaceful hideaway in the countryside between French Lick Springs Hotel and West Baden Springs Hotel. This catch-and-release pond features dock fishing for young fishers and casting bays for more experienced families.
Meet at the Recreation Center entrance (located next to the pickleball courts and Sand Creek Course) for shuttle service to Dry Hollow.

Horseback Riding
Experience the beauty and serenity of southern Indiana while horseback riding through 6+ miles of picturesque trails bordering the Hoosier National Forest. While on horseback, keep an eye out for red-tail hawks, deer, turkeys and other Indiana wildlife.
The Stables at French Lick Resort offer guided trail rides of 45 or 90 minutes for riders 8 years and older. Riders of all skill levels are welcome, and our staff can accommodate guests with special needs. Each guest is matched to a horse that is the best fit for them.

Stables Rules
- Riders must wear closed-toed shoes; long pants are strongly recommended.
- Riders younger than 18 are required to wear riding helmets. Helmets are available at the stables.
- Horses are here for your riding pleasure, but no horsing around, please. Harmful or rough behavior toward the animals is not permitted.
- The staff reserves the right to refuse service to anyone who may pose a risk to themselves, other guests or the horses.
- Please abide by our 260-pound weight limit to avoid injury to horses and guests.
- Expecting mothers are not permitted to ride.
- Selfie sticks are not permitted on trail rides.
Liability forms for adults and minors (17 years and younger) must be completed before any Stables experience at French Lick Resort. To expedite the rental process, please complete an electronic waiver.

Think you’re a good shot? Replicate the thrill of a hunt and fire away at clay targets of various trajectories, speeds, elevations, distances and target sizes. No prior experience necessary — perfect for both novice shooters and experienced marksmen, and a great outdoor adventure for small and medium-sized groups.

Archery Range
Recommended for ages 5 and older. Crossbows are not permitted.
Put your marksmanship to the test at our outdoor archery range. The “wildlife” in these rolling wooded hills are lifelike, three-dimensional animal targets that will test your aim and skill. It’s a fun and unique activity whether you’re a seasoned shooter or a beginner, as your instructor can show you the basics. Perfect for small groups and parties of up to 12.

Ready for more of a challenge? Trek our Open Range, featuring 25 3D targets with color-coded stakes based on skill level at each station. This walking/hiking course takes approximately 2-3 hours to complete as you’ll encounter some moderate terrain and plenty of scenic views.

Waivers for all riders and a driver’s license and contact information for the adult renting the equipment are required. Children younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Helmets and closed-toed shoes are recommended while riding. Surrey carts must remain on resort property. To expedite the rental process, please complete a bike and surrey rental waiver or an e-bike rental waiver online.
