2022 Tournament Recap
On the strength of a fast finish, Xiaowen Yin surged on the final day to claim the title in the inaugural French Lick Resort Charity Classic.
Yin even worked overtime on the final day, finishing her rain-delayed third round Sunday morning before heading back out on the course for her final 18 holes. Three consecutive birdies on holes 14, 15 and 15 allowed her to jump from third place to the solo lead as part of her 3-under final round.
“I didn’t realize I could win,” said Yin. “I was thinking maybe third place or second place, I’ll take it. But I never thought I could win. Seriously.”
At 7-under for the tournament, Yin made it back-to-back wins after securing the title at the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship the week prior. She earned the top prize in a record-setting prize pool of $335,000, the largest purse in the Epson Tour’s 41-year history.
Gabriella Then was one stroke behind Yin for a runner-up finish at 6-under. Polly Mack (5-under), Daniela Darquea (4-under) and Linnea Strom (3-under) completed the top five.
